Vascular Surgery

Skilled Surgeons, Advanced Technologies

Welcome to Vascular Surgery at Crystal Run. Crystal Run’s fellowship-trained vascular doctors and surgeons provide comprehensive care in treating diseases of the vascular system involving the arteries and veins. Our vascular specialists use contemporary medical management, minimally invasive surgical therapies, and, if necessary, open surgical reconstruction.

Our cardiovascular surgeons utilize state-of-the-art technology to perform vascular and endovascular (minimally invasive) surgery, specializing in areas such as cerebrovascular disease (blood vessel disease affecting the brain), aneurysms (a balloon-like bulge in a blood vessel), dialysis access, peripheral artery disease (narrowing of the arteries other than those that supply the heart or brain), and varicose veins treatment.

Each of our dedicated vascular disease specialists works personally with you to achieve long-term lifestyle changes that can help reduce high blood pressure and keep your vascular system healthy. These lifestyle changes can include: smoking cessation; a healthy diet low in fat and sodium; regular exercise; and taking prescribed medications as directed. Our vascular surgeons believe that non-invasive approaches to treating disease are often the best options for maintaining long-term vascular health, and that cardiac surgery should only be performed when less invasive treatment options have been exhausted.

Three Medical Disciplines, One Focus

Many people with vascular disease also have heart disease and/or kidney disease. So, at Crystal Run, cardiologists, nephrologists, vascular specialists, and cardiovascular surgeons collaborate to diagnose or treat hypertension (high blood pressure), coronary artery disease, kidney failure, and a host of other cardiovascular conditions. This team approach allows our skilled physicians to draw upon their expertise to provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art care for your complete cardiovascular system.

VNUS Closure™

The VNUS Closure™ procedure is a minimally invasive varicose vein surgery for people suffering from superficial venous reflux, the major underlying cause of painful, swollen, disfiguring veins (varicose veins). The Closure system provides an alternative to painful vein stripping surgery or laser vein ablation with a disposable radiofrequency catheter that controllably heats and closes diseased veins in a procedure that can take 30 minutes or less.

Weight Loss

Achieving and maintaining a healthy weight is one of the most important ways of staying healthy or improving your health. Crystal Run has many providers and programs to help you succeed. Start by checking your body mass index, and then visit your primary care provider to discuss approaches that are best for you, your lifestyle, and any medical conditions you may have.

Our skilled vascular specialists and cardiac surgeons treat the full spectrum of vascular disease, from peripheral artery disease to varicose veins to atherosclerosis. We look forward to becoming your trusted healthcare provider.
